You are awesome because...

Variety is the spice of life! That old adage could not be truer.

I've been participating in dozens of workshops in my quest for identifying the intersection of my joy and my purpose. One of the exercises was automatic writing. The wisdom that flowed through my hand to the paper stated, "There are options and preferences because the different choices bring joy befitting the individual. When they don't choose the more joyful option it is because they feel obligated to something - to fit some mold. This is misguided. We would all do well to be authentic and discover ourselves in that way. Together we are a whole, flavorful lot. The most exquisite meal ever tasted. So much variety one would never be bored. Why would you want to make it the same? Isn't that death? Death of your distinction? We strive to be one unit, but respect our distinction. This is beauty."

In other words, cooperation is excellent. It facilitates accomplishment and fosters peace. But homogeneity is stifling and the antithesis to growth. Furthermore, forcing another or allowing others to trample your boundaries is a recipe for disaster. Instinctually we sense this and we are or know a rebel. The rebel is compelled to break down the barriers. The cycle of life on earth involves death, decay, and destruction to which something new emerges. Imagine for a moment an existence where we choose happily what to discard and there is plenty of space for growth and creativity?

Imagine the joy and delight from playful, easy creativity. Imagine no wall of shame, guilt, or grief. That is freedom, that is enlightenment. There is much love and appreciation flowing when we allow ourselves and others to be authentic.
